Very nice humidor box for cigars. It comes with a cutter and lighter too. It has a little cartridge that you add water to, to keep the case at the right humidity for your cigars. The box is elegant looking, and perfect size for travel. Would make a great gift!

What am I reviewing?
I am reviewing Glencreag’s Travel Humidor, with Accessories

How was this presented to me?
This arrived in a perfectly sized, somewhat sturdy, white in color, non-sealed, non-retail type cardboard package that measured about 8½” x 6¼” x 3½”; there was no reference to any information nor brand name, it’s a very generic presentation, almost commodity liker. The total weight came in at about two (2) pounds.

What’s inside?
Inside, the beautiful presentation started, as the humidor, of similar proportions, was packaged within a luxuriously soft suede like ribbon/drawstring dust bag that was oversized; most others do “not” include a drawstring dust bag, which is nice for this travel humidor and much appreciated.

Removing from the dust bag.
Upon removing from the plastic bag, I immediately noticed the humidor was thickly padded in a matte finish brown [ I opine “faux” ] leather with similarly colored stitching. The brand’s name is not on the case; however, an icon was lightly embossed within the faux leather. It’s looks are almost first class [it’s too small and not deeply embossed].

Opening.
As soon as I unzipped the case, and opened it, I immediately caught that wonderful and familiar aroma of Spanish Cedar, but it was obvious, but not overwhelming.

All Spanish Cedar interior wood construction?
It appears so, other than the exterior, which is encased in that padded [faux] leather. It does not appear that there was an extensive use of veneers for the interior. [The reason I am cautious, is that I did not dig in or cut the interior, to discover whether it’s a veneer, as I recently was “fooled” by another, when I discovered that competitor’s interior was nothing more than a very thin veneer of Spanish Cedar. That has caused me to question and scrutinize all.]

Using Spanish Cedar.
The use of Spanish Cedar is classic humidor construction. The use of veneers would reduce the cost. There were faux leather straps to hold the seven (7) cigars in the two (2) removable trays. There was also a built in, but very small, hygrometer and humidifier cage, with a small plastic humidifier that fits within and an included accordion styled pipette for adding water. On the opposite side, are flaps to encase the included lighter.

What sets this apart?
The built-in carry handle. It’s better than a wrist strap to assist in moving this about. [There are no magnets in the lid and body of this Humidor to help further seal this tightly, rather, a zipper enclosure].

Instructions included?
Yes, a small sheet with instructions were included.

Interior dimensions vary, but the capacity is the same.
The top interior tray allows for a cigar length of 5” and a smaller ring size – 22mm; the bottom tray allows for a slightly longer length of 5¾” and slightly larger ring size, 22.20mm. Considering the most popular sizes is 48 to 52, this case can take in seven (7), four (4) in one tray and three (3) in the other tray.

The lighter.
It’s almost like a Swiss tool, because it has various tools built-in, such as a V-cutter, a punch, and a poker [that looks like a narwhal’s tusk]. It’s a very heavy lighter, at over several ounces. Operation? Excellent.

Hygrometer?
Yes, analog, about the size of a dime or so, but accurate.

Good for traveling?
Absolutely, especially with that dust bag and carry strap.

Value
Because of what I consider to be [faux] leather, I think the value is less than its price of ($44.99). I would expect a discount to make this more price competitive.

Zipper
Works perfectly, not a name brand, but it is heavy-duty.

Would I select this as a gift?
Yes, but I am uncertain if others would be turned off by what I consider as being [faux] leather.

Brand name?
The brand name was not identified on the interior nor the exterior, not even on the packaging this arrived in, just the drawstring/ribbon bag, which is very well done.

Anything removable
Yes, the humidifier cage and the humidifier itself – which is very small, and the trays that the cigars nestle into, with a little effort.

Seasoning needed?
Yes, and there are instructions on how best to do such.

Country of origin?
A small UPC sticker noted this was made in China.

Is this perfect?
No.

Rating
Based on the totality, it’s a strong four (4) stars. What took this down, in my opinion, was mostly the references to this being leather, but I do not believe this to have been made by real, genuine, cow leather. The reader can make their own decision.
