My CM50D is a really nice humidor. I give it a 5 star for efficiency definitely. However, had I known that it doesn't truly fit 500 sticks I would've purchased the 900 count. I had 135 sticks inside and it was blocking my air flow. So I had to split my stick up. I have 80 in my two separate desktop humidors. I now have 50 inside my electric humidor. Works great! Now resting perfectly at 65 65 65 with boveda packs. I removed the water tray just to be able to have more room. I'm considering ordering the 900 ct humidor so that I can at least have them all in one humidor. My collection of sticks run in the thousands I need them to age together with the electric humidor not separate!

I’ve had this humidor for about a week and so far I have had no issues. It arrived in excellent condition and setup is easy. I seasoned it with RO water and within hours it was stable, which was a pleasant surprise. I have used RO water to season 3 humidors and have never had an issue. I set the humidor to 66 degrees and 68% humidity. The temperature never varies and while the humidity sometimes decreases a bit, it never exceeds 68%. I use Boveda packs and not the provided water tank.

There are a few issues that could be improved. First, the top rack has no side rails, so when you pull it out cigars can fall out either side. I’ll fix this by installing a couple post or a rail along each side. The middle shelf is not very deep as the compressor is behind it. This limits storage. As others have noted, there is really no way this could ever hold 500 cigars. Maybe 200 at best. I knew this in advance, so it’s not a big deal for me. Another minor issue is that the hygrometer mounted in the middle shelf cannot be calibrated. For now it seems accurate. There is only one button on this and it changes the temperature reading between F and C. A long press turns it off. I have other hygrometers that I can calibrate so I will use them as needed.

For me, the biggest issue is the bottom drawer. This is a large water tank. Since I use Boveda packs, this large drawer was useless, so I removed it. The compressor does generate a few drops of water a day so I just put a small plastic container below the discharge point and put a cedar shelf from an older humidor adjacent to it. Not perfect, but it works.
