For hygrometer

1. Active the hygrometer

Tear off the film on the back cover of the battery.

2. Create a 75% humidity package, then season the hygrometer.

a. Take a bottle cap or another small container with salt.

b. Dampen the salt with water, but not too much. A damp pile of salt in the bottle cap is what you need.

c. Place the hygrometer and the container with the damp salt into a ziplock bag.

d. Leave the hygrometer and salt container in the sealed bag for approximately 8 hours or longer.

The salt and water mixture inside the sealed bag creates a humidity level of approximately 75%. Check the hygrometer reading through the bag, and if it differs from 75%, adjust the hygrometer to display 75% for accurate measurements.

3. Calibrate the hygrometer

a. Long press the toggle of °C/°F located in the center position.

b. Once the temperature value on the display begins to flash, calibrate the hygrometer by pressing the +% and -% buttons on the back and adjusting the humidity value to 75%.

For the humidor

1. Wipe down the interior and exterior surfaces with a soft cloth to remove particles.

2. Season the humidor

a. Dampen a clean sponge or cloth with distilled water. Make sure it's damp, not soaking wet.

b. Wipe down the interior surfaces of the humidor, including the walls, shelves, and drawers, with a damp sponge or cloth. Avoid saturating the wood; you only need to moisten it lightly.

c. Place a shot glass of distilled water inside the humidor. This will help increase humidity during the seasoning process.

d. Close the humidor and let it sit undisturbed for at least 24 to 48 hours. This allows the wood to absorb moisture and stabilize.

3. Check the hygrometer reading

After the seasoning period, check the hygrometer reading inside the humidor cabinet. Ideally, storing cigars should be around 65-70% relative humidity (RH). If the levels are too low or high, add/remove moisture as needed.

For the humidifier(s)

1. Drop the distilled water inside the humidifier(s).

2. After waiting about an hour, you will notice that the crystal gel in the humidifier has fully absorbed water and expanded significantly. Once the humidifier is flipped over and no water drips out, it will be installed.

3. Place the humidifier(s) at the corner of your humidor with the vent part upwards and any drawer. Make sure no water drips, or it may ruin your cigars.

Store cigars

1. Place your cigars in the humidor cabinet

Note: The hygrometer reading may decrease instantly, which is normal because the new cigar is very dry and will affect the reading on the hygrometer.

2. Regularly check the hygrometer reading and recharge the humidifier(s) to maintain the cigars at the proper humidity level.
